Aerosol Components

Many applications require the delivery of an aerosol for sensitization, treatment, or challenge. Buxco offers a variety of solutions to meet these needs.

Aeroneb Lab

Aerosol generation

Buxco's systems feature the Aerogen Aeroneb® nebulizer and controller. Aerogen's approach is compact and efficient for laboratory applications. Two nebulizer units are offered, with particle sizes of 2.5-4µ VMD and 4-6µ VMD. Both feature Aerogen's OnQ® micropump technology, have a capacity of 10ml and outputs of up to 400µl per minute.

Aerosol delivery

Aerosol can be delivered in a number of ways, as needed. For more information on these options, visit the Aerosol Delivery page.

Aerosol control for these systems is provided by one of Buxco's aerosol control panels, or by a digital output controller mounted in our preamplifier chassis.

Options include:

  • The Mass Dosing control panel, equipped with a timer, aerosol delivery rate controller, and bias flow source for extended treatments.

  • The Distributed Aerosol control panel, equipped with a timer, aerosol delivery rate controller, and dilution air flow source for carrying aerosol equally to multiple chambers. This control panel may be operated manually or by our BioSystem XA software.

  • The In-line and Direct Aerosol controller, mounted in a MAX preamplifier chassis. This approach may be software controlled (timer) or manually controlled (on-off). A delivery rate control device is provided for varying the aerosol delivery rate.
