Respiratory Gas Analysis
Buxco's digital respiratory gas analyzer compares gas (oxygen and carbon dioxide) concentrations downstream of a studied subject to those upstream of the subject. Differences due to respiration are used to calculate VO2, VCO2, Respiratory Quotient (the ratio of VCO2 to VO2), and Metabolic Rate
 |
| Four-channel gas analyzer measures VO2, VCO2, Respiratory Quotient (RQ), and Metabolic Rate. |
Buxco's product works with FinePointe™ Research Suite or BioSystem XA software and our Whole Body Plethysmography systems, offering the following benefits:
- Collect flow derived parameters and metabolism at the same time. Use with telemetry to collect cardiovascular and other parameters. All data appear in one combined table
- Expose subjects to ambient air or custom gas mixtures e.g. hypercapnic, hypoxic
- Built-in pressure and humidity compensation
- Easy, automated calibration
- Each analyzer supports the simultaneous study of one to four chambers/ subjects
- Easily add more analyzers
- Add urine collection for a more complete metabolic rate analysis
The digital gas analyzer can be added to most existing whole body plethysmography systems running FinePointe software or BioSystem XA version 2.10 or later.
