Respiratory gas analysis

Four-channel gas analyzer measures VO2, VCO2, Respiratory Quotient (RQ), and Metabolic Rate

Our respiratory gas analyzer samples gas from each animal chamber and compares outlet gas concentrations to inlet gas concentrations. Changes in O2 and CO2 concentrations are monitored real-time to calculate VO2, VCO2, Respiratory Quotient (RQ), and Metabolic Rate (MR). Buxco's metabolic gas analyzer accommodates custom (hypoxic, hypercapnic) gas challenges and works together with whole body plethysmography. The equipment is highly-integrated, with just one USB connection and one power connection.

Humidity Compensation

The presence of humidity can affect the determination of VO2, VCO2, and RQ. Buxco's gas analyzer provides real-time correction for humidity, leading to more accurate results.

Urine collection bases

For urine collection, Buxco offers specialty bases for our whole body plethysmographs. The funnel design collects urine for quantification and chemical analysis.
